Need photostatic copy of birth certificate from hospital, vital statistic's say no records how do i find copy?

I need a passport, sent money to vital statistic's office for copy and comes back no records.Have been in military using original hospital birth certificate,so now cant get passport....need help fast!~Hospital no longer there what can i do now?

Usually its the department of health for the city or county you were born in to get this, since for years many people did not have births at hospitals and also hospitals do go out of business so check with your local government.

All records are sent from the hospitals and birthing centers to a hall of records in the state where you were born.


Like California is Sacramento.


go to Dept of Human Services or DHS and tell them and they will give you a form to fill out and send in and you should get it back real quick.


Or to get it faster go to Social Security office they can see a copy in a matter of seconds and then tell you how to get it.
