For anyone who might have specific knowledge about Texas Vital Records. I was lead to believe the public can look at birth records for each individual county in Austin Texas where vital records are kept. Is this true? I'm not interested in any other state's vital record system.
Also, if this is true, how do I go about asking to view these records? Thanks for your input.

It is most likely true. You would go to the department responsible for the particular records you want, which can be determined on the county's website. Most likely, they will not allow you to view records of persons who have not been deceased for at least a certain number of years, due to privacy concerns, unless you have a valid reason. Other than that, it should be public information.
